Wilsonis Ayala-Villanueva was born in El Salvador in 1973, and became a U.S Citizen in 1987. He has been detained multiple times over the years equaling nearly three years of jail time, and Ayela claims the U.S government has attempted to deport him four times.

The complaint filed by Ayela claims that on three separate occasions, the judge would order the proceedings terminated based on the findings that the plaintiff was a United States citizen. Though a naturalized citizen may be deported, his citizenship must first be revoked, and there is no evidence that this has ever been attempted against Ayela.

Ayela is now suing the U.S government for damages for constitutional violations, false arrest, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is currently incarcerated in Texas, for reasons that are not included in the complaint.
